TOWN PLANNING ACT.
NO AMENDMENTS THIS YEAR
No amendments to the Town Planning Act arc proposed by the Government this session, according to advice received at a recent meeting of the executive of the Auckland Town Planning Association. It was held that the Act makes sufficient provision to enable town planning schemes to be properly prepared. The suggested amendments forwarded by the association had been noted for later consideration.
A letter forwarded to the Prime Minister, urging that the office of Director ot Town Planning should bo advertised throughout the Empire, was read. Tt was resolved to hold a public meet jng in Mount Albert to protest against the destruction of the mountain by quarrying operations. The Auckland Automobile Association and the Council of the Auckland University Collego wrotA advising the appointment of delegates to the general council.
