The wool-selling season in New Zealand Will open with the sale at Wellington on tfonday, when a total of 9021 bales will be offered. • At the corresponding jala last year the offerings totalled 11,029 bales.
The small catalogue for Monday is due to the unfavourable weather delaying shearing and the transport of clips. The past winter was a comparatively mild one and ♦he sheep came through splendidly. Cou■equetitly the fleece is well grown and »ound.
There will be a very full attendance of fcayers, many of whom arrived from overseas during the past fortnight. The competition is expected to be keen. Price 3 at consuming centres aro about ©ne penny above the highest price teachod iu New Zealand during last ieason and this should have an influence en values.
