WEEK-END WEATHER.

HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST.

Tho following weather forecast for 4E hours' from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us |?y Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Tho general outlook favours mainly fine weather during tho week-end, particularly in northern districts, although unsettled at times, with scattered showers, especially in areas southward of New Plymouth and Napier, and along the west coast of both islands. Southerly to south-westerly, moderate * to strong winds, squally at times, ruling in the northern portion of the North Island, and strong westerlies prevailing in the south. Seas moderately rough on the west coast, smooth to moderate elsewhere. Distribution of atmospheric pressure .remains practically unaltered, an area of high barometric pressure being maintained over the greater portion of the North Island, being bordered by relatively low pressure in the South Island. Under these conditions continued dry weather is expected throughout the northern and east coast districts, with fine, warm weather pre vailing over a long period, occasional scattered showers intervening. In th'a southern portion of the South Island conditions are likely to bo unsettled, with an intermittent rainfall, chiefly along the west coast. Barometer, midnight rising . . 30.05 in.
