COMMENT ON AGREEMENT. MR. AMERY'S GOOD OFFICES. (Received October 28. 9.30 p.m.) A. and N.Z. CAPETOWN. Oct. 28. In an article discussing the flag agreement the Cape Times pays a tribute to the influence of the speeches delivered by the Secretary of State for the Dominions, Mr. L. S. Amery, when he was in South Africa recently. 'Hie paper says: What Mr. Amery said came as a breath of clean, cool air into a heated room full of quarrelling people. His wise and courageous speeches were the important, if not the decisive, factor.
