CHORAL SOCIETY FORMED.
[BX TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] THAMES, Tuesday. At a public meeting in the Nctherton Hall, presided over by Mr. T. , Vowles, it was decided to form a choral society, open to residents from 'any part of the llauraki Plains. Over 20 members were enrolled. The following committee was appointed Messrs R. Adams, A. R. Morrison, J. W Welch, Mrs. Scudamore and Miss Matthews. Mrs. Scudamore was elected secretary and Mr. Welch lefcder of the choir. It was resolved to give free lessons in voice production.
