AUSTRALIAN POPULATION.
INCREASE IN YEAR 123,505. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Oct. 11. According to . figures published by the Commonwealth Statistician, Mr. C. H. Wickens, the population of the Commonwealth on June 30, 1927, was 6,167,429, an increase in the year af 123,505, of which the excess of births over deaths accounted for 75,442. New South Wales heads the list of the States with a population of 2,370,623.
