Surgeon Rear-Admiral Jeans has written his recollections, which will be published by Sampson Low. The coming novels of Hutchinson include one by Lady Dorothy Mills, who entitles it, " Master! Miss Mary Sinclair has a novel nearly ready with * Hutchinson, under the title " Hfstory of Anthony Waring." Miss Romer Wilson has written an account of the life and private history of Emily Bronte for publication by Chatto. Majorie Bowen goes to Touraine for the scene of a romance called " Pagoda," which Hodder and Stoughton are publishing. John Galsworthy has written the last volume of the Forsyte saga, " Swan Song." It will be published in serial form before publication in book form. In addition to a novel, E. Temple Thurston has done a volume of children's stories entitled " Come and Listen," for Putnam. It ranges from the Bible an< Greek myths to Lady Godiva. Forthcoming volumes of reminiscence include "Some Memories and Reflections," by Madame Emma Eames the famous singer, and " Up the Years from Bloomsbury," by the actor. George Arliss. Mr. Vivian Burnett, son of Mrs. Frances Hodgson Burnett, and original of the famous Little Lord Fauntleroy, has written a life of his mother, which he has called " The Romaiitiok Lady." The literary material left by the Fiench naturalist, Henri Fabre, is not yet exhausted. Hodder and Stoughton will shortly publish " The Spoilers," which treats of " every ravaging insect that creeps, jumps, or flies." " Will Civilisation Crash ? " is the name of a book by Commander Kenworthy M.P., which is to be published by Benn with an introduction by Lloyd George. It argues that the danger of war is as great as ever it was, while the damage, loss and suffering will be infinitely more even than they were during 1914-1918. The House of Asquith, is to be well represented in the new publishing season. The Earl of Oxford publishes his Reminiscences in two volumes through Cassells; Thornton Butterworth issue the Countess of Oxford's first novel; her step-son, Herbert, also has a first novel, " Young Orlando," appearing with Hutchinson, while his wife, Lady Cynthia, has made an anthology of mystery stories.
