THE DAISY'S SACRIFICE. The flowers wero blowiug in the breeze; the rost. looked prpudly down upon the smaller flowers, knJiVing they only obeyed her because she was queen. Oh, what could she do to make them obey her for love? The daisy, dozing in the heat of the hot summei sun raised its head as a lark came singing overhead. Down, down itcame till it reached the little garden where the beautiful flowers lived. The poor little daisy looked sad to think she would have to leave her nice little place for the happiness of the rose, but the brave fl ower answered, "If you succeed, I promise ' The lark waved its wings and went away singing happily knowing, if he succeeded, he would have a better and warmer home for the winter. Two days later, the lark came to the little garden where the daisy lived, but strange to say the lark did not go to the daisy first, "but to the rose, though he did not speak to her Then the winter came, cold and bleak, and the little daisy slept beneath the dark, warm earth.
