HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.

BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL. The council of the Auckland IlospitSi Auxiliary held its monthly meeting yesterday afternoon under the presidency of the Mayoress, Mrs. A. D. Campbell. The formation of two new branches, the Mutual Club branch anrl the Avondale branch, was jeported. Reports were received from ten committees, and from the Onehunga and Mount Eden branches. 1Mrs. Ernest Davis was appointed to the seat on the council vacated by Mrs. DaVjd L. Nathan. An amount of £lB3 10s was transferred from the street collection to the Families' Fund. The repvesentative of the fund asked that the money should be placed in the bank until the committee controlling it had met. The receipt of £59 10s from the sale of membership badges was reported. Mrs. Donaldson, Mayoress of Newmarket, reported she was commencing to arrange for the children's Christmas tree, and would be appealing shortly to tradespeople for their usual help. The council decided on principle not to. pay rents. Mrs.' Dreaver, convener of the Wireless Committee, reported the receipt of a donation of £lO toward the establishment of wireless equipment in the hospital. Specially-designed grocery order-books for use by the charitable workers of the auxiliary were issued. It was decided to hold quarterly meetings for all members of the auxiliary, and the first one will take the form of a public meeting in the Town Hall concert chamber toward the end of the month.
