TRAMWAY CONCESSIONS.

Sir, —May I be permitted to enter _ a strong protest against the action of the City Council in granting special tramway concessions to a certain section of the public? In the first place, I refer lo the pupils and teachers of St. Cuthbert's College, Epsom, who are allowed the privilege oi boarding city-bound trams at Epsom Post Office, on the fifth section, and ride to town with a fourpenny ticket or a four-section concessioncard. And, secondly, to the privilege granted to school children up to 18 years of age, who are supplied with concessioncarus which carry thern at the rate of a halfpenny per section, whereas children from three to four years of age are chnrged one penny per single section. Now, this is most unreasonable and unfair. Why make fish of one and fowl of another ? It is high time that the ratepayers of our fair city bestirred themselves and demanded from the authorities equal rights for all and privileges for none. Justice. [The privilege to St. Cuthbert's College was first granted by the Royal Bus Company and as a consequence given also by the tramways. The Tramways Committee has now decided to withdraw it. The minimum fare i 3 Id, but after the first section the young children referred to are carried at half-fare. —Ed., Herald. ]
