AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. ACTIVITY IN OHINEMURIS. The most marked feature of business on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday was the activity in Ohinemuris at all three calls. Apart from that, few sales were effected In Government securities Inscribed Stock, 1933, per cent., sold at £lOl, the price recorded at the last previous sale a fortnight ago. Ihe 1938 44 pei cent issue was wanted at £96. sellers £96 10s. In banks New Zealands, D preference, 10s paid, changed hands at 16s lid. They sold at 16s 7d early in August. In Loan and AgetTcy. holders of New Zealand and River Plate came down to 27s 6d, buyers 27s 3d In coal two sales of Hikurangis were made at 3s Id, a decline of 2d on lust week's price. In miscellaneous British Tobaccos showed an upward tendency, the final quotations being 57s 3d and 56s 6d, as compared with 57s and 56s on Wednes day. business in Ohinemuris opened at 8s and advanced at Ss 6d at the morning call. At noon a decline had set in and they fell from 8s 6d to 7s 9d. At the late call the only sale made was at 7s 6d, and the market closed with sellers at 7s 9d, buyers 7s 3d.
