CRICKET TEST MATCHES.
NEGLECT OF AUCKLAND. CLUB. DELEGATES' COMPLAINT. That Auckland has in the past been neglected in the matter of playing cricket test matches formed the subject of complaint by some club delegates at the annual meeting of the Auckland Cricket Association last evening. The matter was introduced by Mr. G. Jackson, delegate for North Shore, who asked if it was not possible for the Auckland Association to have direct representation on the New Zealand Cricket Council instead of having resi dent delegates m Christchurch. Auek land had been neglected so far as test matches were concerned In support of his argument he read from the annual balance-sheet the figures giving receipts for the match between Auckland and Wellington in Auckland last year The president, Mr. F Earl, K..C , pointed out that no association could bear the expense of sending delegates to the meetings of the council Mr R B Lusk said ne agreed with Mr Jackson that Auckland had not re ceived the consideration it should have had from the New Zealand Cricket Coun cil. For some years past there had been a suggestion that the headquarters of the council should be moved to Wellington, and if that course was adopted it would be possible to send direct delegates. Mr. E. C. Beale said the council had already taken steps to have the various associations directly represented at the annual meetings. The president said the discussion had been very useful He held strong opinions regarding the management of New Zealand cricket in Christchurch, but he was not prepared at present to agree to the proposal to alter it by removing it to Wellington. "We are thoroughly dis satisfied with the way matters are being controlled, without giving us a say," added Mr Earl "I think Auckland's position has not been forcibly enough put to the Management Committee of the council, or no doubt it would be considered."
