LOST EXPLORERS.

EXPEDITION TO BRAZIL. LEADER'S WIFE HOPEFUL. LONDON, Sept. IS. A message from R>o de Janic.ro says the newspapers deny the authenticity of the reports that the explorer, Colonel Fawcett, and his son, had been found by an engineer named Courteville, living comfortably about 100 miles from Diaraautino, Mai to Grosso, Brazil. Earlier reports stated that an engineer named Courteville, who had just crossed the Matto Grosso Platean, Braiil, declared that he saw Colonel Fawcett and his son, who have previously not been heard of since they set off into the Braiilian wilds a couple of years, ago, living in good health 100 miles from Lhamantino. The Nice coriespondent of the Daily News states that Colonel Faweett's wife, who is living at Beaulieu, France, savs that she believes the report that Coarteville had seen her husband and son, Jack, who were probably living with a peopla who practise telepathy, to- enable her husband to study that science, in which ha had always been interested. Her husband had had communication with experts at San Francisco and in New Zealand, said Mrs. Fawcett. " I have received four messages during the past year from those persona,'* she said. " ami 1 expect another letter shortly. I have not lost confidence in my husband's safe return, but believe in keeping up my courage in order to help him to keep up his. " Although physically we parted two and a-half years ago, we havo not been separated mentally. 1 have always known that he was well and happy." Colonel Fawcett, with his son and an Englishman, Raieigh Rimmel, went into the unknown interior of Braril in May, 1025, in the hope of discovering remains of a very old civilisation. It is one of the most inaccessible areas of the globe and no news of the party has since been r«ceived.
