BRITAIN AND RUSSIA.

SPEECH BY HOME SECRETARY REASON FOR RECENT BREAK. fßritish Official "Wireless.) A. and N.Z. RUGBY, Sept. 20. In addressing a Conservative meeting at Dunrobin Castle in Scotland the Home Secretary, Sir William Joynson-Hicks, said that when the time came for the Government to go to the country one of the things upon which it would be prepared to appeal to the voters would be the Trades Union and Trade Disputes Act. Referring to the severance of relations with Russia, Sir William said the British Government had been determined to show that it would remain master in its own household. When the Government turned out the Russians there was a terrible outcry by the Labour Party, but now the Trades Union Congress had followed the example of the Government and had decided that they could not stand the Russians any longer and would have nothing more to do with them.
