TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Unsettled and colder weather is expected, with rain at intervals, fair periods intervening. North-westerly to south-westerly %vind&, strong and squally. Seas rough. Combined tropical and Antarctic influences still dominate Dominion weather conditions, and further electrical disturbances are expected in districts bordering on the west coast. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—Present indications are for moderate north-westerly winds backing to south-westerlies northward of New Plymouth and Napier and moderate to fresh southerlies prevailing elsewhere; weather cold and changeable generally with passing showers and heavy showers on the east of the South Island, but conditions shonld improve soon.
