RENDEZVOUS OF HOOLIGANS
DAMAGE DONE TO SCHOOL. " A TERRIBLE DISTRICT." Cases of vandalism at the old Napier Street School were reported by the headmaster of the school yesterday to the Auckland Education Board. Among other things it was stated there was evidence of the systematic breaking of windows. Mrs> N. E. Ferner said that only a small portion of the playground was fenced off and immediately after" school there was an influx of young people from outside. The Play Association had realised that the district needed help and had begun activities there. The damage was not done by the children participating in the association games but it occurred during the week-ends. Mr. H. S. W. King: Yes, on Sunday. It is a terrible district. The grounds serve as a rendezvous for all the hooligans about. It was decided to refer the matter to the superintendent of police requesting supervision.
