TE AWAMUTU DOMAIN.
FUNDS FOR IMPROVEMENTS. CARNIVAL TO BF. ARRANGED. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday. A meeting", convened Te Awamutu Domain Board, and attended by delegates of all sports and other bodies using Albert Park, decided to organise a carnival to raise £SOO, part of which will be utilised to root the present grandstand and erect a building to house the home industries section of the Te Awamutu Agricultural, Pastoral and Horticultural Association's annual show. The building would also be used as a gymnasium by the Young Men's Institute, and as an auxiliary dressing room for players taking part in various sports- ~ A representative committee was set up to promote the carnival. A proposal w r as advanced at a conference between the Domain Board and the delegates of sports bodies that the latter should bo given representation on the board. After the matter had been debated a proposal that stops be taken to supersede the present board, which is the. Borough Council, with a board comprising all bodies using the parks and reserves, was defeated.The Mayor stated that the present board would be glad to receive suggestions and belli toward maintaining in good order the historic reserves.
