AYR STREET OUTLET.
NO CHANGE IN THE CURVES. The criticism by the Auckland Automobile Association of the bends in Ayr Street, the new outlet from Psmell Road to Shore Road, was considered by the City Council last evening, and it was decided to reply that the road was not intended for a primary traffic route and that the curves were not abnormal. The engineer reported the formation had not deviated from the alignments which had existed when the road was first laid out. The curves would be modified as filling became available, but the road was intended only for the convenience, of vehicle drivers seeking a short cut to the Domain Drive. Brighton Road was regarded as the main route between Parnell and the Retnuera waterfront.
