STRANDED RIVERINA.
VESSEL TAKES ON COAL. FAVOURABLE TIDE AWAITED, A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Aug. 31. Smooth seas enabled a quantity of coal to be taken aboard the stranded steamer Riverina. The vessel now lies awaiting a favourable tide. A channel has formed where she formerly lay, and the bank of sand on which she is resting is fast being eroded by the sea. The ship has been moved 220 ft. forward from her original position. ■
