[BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAE REPORTER. ] WELLINGTON, Wednesday.
Further discussion in the House of Representatives on the Summer Time Bill has been postponed for a fortnight to allow of additional efforts being made to reach a compromise on the objections which have been made by dairy farmers and others, who contend the advancing of the clock by one hour during summer will have a detrimental effect on their businesses, -
This decision was reached at a conference to-day between the Prime Minister, Mr. Coates, Mr. T. K. Sidey and Mr. W. S. Glenn (Rangitikei), the leader of the opposition to the measure in the House. Information is to bo sought from dairy factories and cream carters as to what alterations in the railway time-tables will be necessary to meet the altered conditions, and the data gathered are to be placed before the department to see whether the suggested adjustments in the service can be made.
