DOG JUMPS INTO CAR.
TAKEN AWAY BY DRIVER. SEQUEL IN POLICE COURT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT, J HAMILTON. Wednesday A fine of £5 was imposed on Stewart McKay Phillip in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day for stealing a Pomeranian dog valued at £5. Evidence was given that the dog jumped into accused's car at Frankton at Easter. It was taken by him to his home at Stratford and detained there. The magistrate, Mr. Wyvern Wilson, said the dog was not lost and that no inquiries were made by accused regarding the ownership. He could have put the dog out of the car. A similar charge against Phillips' companion at the time, Harry Davis, was dismissed.
