PRESENTATIONS.
A presentation was made to Mrs. Smith, wife of Constable Smith, and to her father, Mr. R. J. Elliot, at a social gathering in the Henderson Town Hall. There was an ovei; 200- The presentation was made by Father Colgan on behalf of the parishioners of Holy Cross Church. Father Colgan paid a tribute to Mrs. Smith and to her father, who had provided music for their social gatherings for a considerable time. He then,presented to Mrs Smith a handsome hand-carved Japanese card table, and to Mr. Elliot a shaving outfit. Constable Smith, who has been in charge of the Henderson station for the last three and a-half years, has been transferred to the Mount Eden station. A larga number of residents assembled in the Waharoa Public Hali to bid farewell to Mr J. S. Doull. headmaster of the Waharoa School for 23 years, and to Mrs. Doull. Owing to the pupils of standards V. and VI being transferred 'o Hie Matamata Junior High School, the grading has been reduced, and Mr. DouU has received the appointment of headmaster at Kopu, Thames. In addition to local residents, there wert presen* several members of the staff of thu Matamata High School and the Hinrfer* School, and Mr. E. C. Banks, member of the Auckland Education Board and chairman of the Matamata Junior High Srhool, and Mr. J. F. Wells, headmaster of t li e school. On behalf of the residents, Mr. W.
