PROGRESS OF TE RAHU.
new public hall opened. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU. Tuesday.
There was a large gathering of Tc J1 aim settlers last evening for the purpose of formally opening the new public hall at Crossroads, three miles from Te Awamutu. 'Die opening ceremony was performed by Mr. Stewart Reid, M.P. for Waikato, who congratulated the f,,s jj U l settlers upon their enterprise. He added that Te Raha was an old-established district, but onlv in comparatively recent years had a 'progressive movement developed. The land was rich and its productiveness was being steadily increased. Mr. Reid's remarks were endorsed by Mr. S. C. Macky, chairman of the Waipa County Council.
