MAKERU RIVER DREDGE.

VISIT OF INSPECTION. [BY telegraph.—own correspondent. I TE PUKE. Stmdoy. Several members of the Kaituna River Board, together with Mr J Anderson, engineer, paid a visit of inspection to the Maketu River outlet yesterday The dredge has about another 100 ft to Ro to complete the cut through the sand bills to the ocean beach. It is expected this will occupy about ten days. Progress is somewhat slow at present, owing to tljo stony nature of the river bottom.
