A telegraphic match in the interprovincial championship competition was begun on Saturday evening by the Auckland and Wellington Chess Clubs It will be resumed and concluded next batur<iay. Twenty players a side are taking part At the adjournment one game had been won by Wellington at one of the lower boards. A telegraphic chess match, Hamilton v. GiSborne, was continued yesterday, Hamilton winning bv the substantial maigin of 20 games to 3. Two games have yet to be adjudicated. At the commencement of the second night's play the games were largelv in favour of Hamilton. Ihe Hamilton players met in Wesley Chambers, where a special telegraphic connection had been made by the department.
