ROPE-BOUND SKELETON.

PEAT CUTTERS' DISCOVERY.

Men engaged in cutting peat on Dava Moor, six miles from Grantown-on-Spey, recently unearthed a huma. 1 skeleton. Appearances point to a violent death, (or the arms were bound to the body. The legs wero covered with a material resembling saddle-cloth, and a shepherd tartan surrounded the head. Resting on the chest was a balmoral bonnet, and nearby, a stout stick four feet long. The skeleton is that of a man about sft, Bin in height, and there are remains showing that he was dark-haired, and wore a heavy moustache How long the body had remained there it was impossible to say. One theory is that he might havo been a workman employed when the railway lino was built 67 • ~s ago. The clothing and the corded fastenings of the binding suggest, however, an earlier date.
