THE GREAT PYRAMID.

Sir, —In his article on the Great. Pyramid in the Herald Supplement of the 6th instant, Mr. P. S. Smallfield thrice states or quotes with sarcasm and ridicule that the end of this Dispensation, or Armageddon, is due, or the latter to be fought in 192b'. Neither Davidson nor any reputed "pyramid prophet" has made such rash and* positive assertions. Davidson augurs that, as the Great War was accurately presaged by the pyramids symbology of the "first low passage," there is leason to apprehend that the "second low passage" forecasts the second and final "tribulation" covering the period from May 29, 1928, to September 15-16, 19c6, ushered in by serious economic or other troubles culminating with Armageddon. Mr. Smallfield's imperfect attempt to describe the standard inch displayed" in the anteroom shows that he is little acquainted with" its peculiar location and design, or purpose. The measurements of the antechamber are in geometrical harmony with, and an index to, the external structural design and measurements of the pyramid, the inch and cubit being monumentalised therein. All measurements of the pyramid are earth commensurable, and_ it 13 therefore consistent that the unit of measure should be a factor of the polar diameter of the earth, which Davidson convincingly declares is exactly 500 million inches. Mr. Smallfield quotes: "pyramid inches give the birth of Christ in the year I.' and adds, "but the researches of scholars now place the birth of Christ in the year 4 or the year 3 8.C." Davidson gives the date as 4 8.C., which thus agrees with the "researches of scholars and places him in their credible compnn}. Mr. Smallfield quotes "The same give the date of Noah's flood as 25i7 8.C.: TJssher's Chronology gives the date as 2348 8.C." Davidson fixes the historical and pyrami ' date definitely as 2344 B.C. Davidson furnishes conclusive evidence that Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 A.D. Josephus. Dr. Smith. Basil Stewart and others confirm this, which is the generally-accepted date. The distance of the sun from the earth has been variously estimated as from 10 miles to over 95 million miles. Professor Newcomb, by modern astronomical computation, makes it 92,998,000, while Davidson calculates it by the pvramid's base pjan at 92,996.085 miles, which is probaoly the actual true value. It seems obvious that Mr. Smallfield's superficial knowledge of the pyramid has been culled froxs very nnreliabie or prejudiced sources. 3 KLS-E.
