FRANKLIN MOTORISTS.

ACTIVITIES OF SOCIETY. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] , POKEKOHE, Friday. The executive of the Franklin branch ef the Auckland Automobile Association met this week, the president, Mr. J. Fulton, presiding. It was decided to institute a special campaign to augment the membership of the branch, it bem|j estimated that there were about 2000 motorists in the Franklin district, of whom not half were yet members of the branch. The matter of providing a camping site at Tuakau for motorists was referred to the Tuakau Chamber of Commerce, with an intimation that the branch would be pleased to do anything it could toward having a site mide available. A resolution was carried that the branch affirm the principle of a petrol tax for the construction and maintenance of roads.
