MATATUA SAILS TO-DAY. -■ Having completed her Homeward cargo Ctt Central Wharf yesterday, the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line's steamer Matatua is to sail for London eirly this morning. THE NORTHUMBERLAND ROGK. The Superintendent of Mercantile Marine reports that H.M. Minesweeper Wakakura will, during a part of next week, be engaged in a search for the rock which the Northumberland struck on January 25 north of Gisborne. During the course of her operations, from August 24 to 26 inclusive, an area five miles in a north and south direction and five miles in an east and west direction, with Northumberland Rock as centre, will be marked by unlit buoys, and it is requested that masters of vessels navigating in the vicinity will keep clear of this area after dark. The Union Company's Island steamer Tofua, which left Auckland for the Islands of the Western Pacific last Saturday, arrived at Suva at sis o'clock yesterday morning. WAIRUNA PROM VANCOUVER. The Union Company's transpacific) steamer Wuirumi is expected to arrive at Auckland from Pacific Coast Canadian and American ports about August '27.
