NEW TRAWLER ARRIVES.

VOYAGE FROM ENGLAND. FIFTY-EIGHT DAYS AT SEA. The trawler Thomas Bryan, which was purchased in England by Sanford. Limited, reached Auckland yesterday afternoon. The voyage of 11,650 miles was accomplished in 67 days 10 hours The actual steaming-time at sea was 58 days 21 hours, at d the average speed was 8.2 knots. The Thomas Brj.au sailed from Milford Haven jd June 10, and the first port of call was Port Royal, Jamaica, which was reached on July '2. After a supply ol bunker coal had been taken on board the trawler resumed her voyage on July 4, and reached Colon three days later Next day she passed through the Panama Canal and moored at Balboa, where trie bunkers were again replenished On July 9 the trawler cleared Panama for Tahiti, where she arrived on July 31. Four days were spent in cleaning up tbe vessel and in taking in a further coal supply Leaving Tahiti on August 4 the trawler had an uneventful voyage to Auckland The worst weather was experienced early this week On Monday afternoon the wind blew with gale force from the west, and the storm continued- until Tuesday night The Thomas Bryan, which was built at Aberdeen in 1917, ; is one of the Strath class of North Sea trawlers, a number of which were used as mine sweepers during the war The tonnage <s 216 gross The vessel is similar in design and construction to the coir Zany's trawler Thomas Currell.
