Queen Ida has a fine turn of speed but she is not a good stayer. The Australian-brecl pacor Billy bea, who was sold by auction last Monday, and was purchased at a very low fifiure, will, it is stated, go into J. N. Clarke's stable at New Brighton. Billy Sea has a fine turn of speed and is a good stayer, but in the past lie has been a very bad horse at the barrier . C. Tnsker has the pacer Bridget Pointer looking really well. She is a useful sort who should race well this season. Audo Bell did not look sound when he was training for the August meeting and he raced indifferently on the first day. He seems better now but be is only doing slow logging work. The Southland-bred Homelight, who is now in J. J. Kemierley's stable, is a fine type of pacer, but so far he has not been seriously tried since coming to his new Quarters. . . . , The pacing mitre Exclusive looks bngni and well. She is a useful sort over short courses nnd she may show improved form this season. T. G. Fox is jogging hia two-year-old filly by Key De Oro from Lovebird on the track.
