NEW DEVONPORT WHARF.

WORK PROGRESSING WELL.

Good progress is being made with construction of the new wharf at Devonport, according to a report by the engineer to the Harbour Board. One hundred and seventy-six piles had been driven, thus completing the pile-driving for the cargo and vehicular wharf except for a group of raker piles for stiffening the outer end. This represented '62 per cent, of the piles in the complete structure. A further area of 5720 square feet of decking had been concreted, bringing the total to 24.226 square feet, or 43 per cent, of the whole wharf. Satisfactory progress was being made with the construction of the new vehicular bridge to be installed at the Devonport Wharf.
