DETONATOR EXPLODES.

CONTACT WITH WIRELESS. MAN LOSES LEFT- EYE. Injuries caused by the explosion of a detonator have resulted in Mr. Samuel Beresford, of 6, Esplanade Koad, Mo&nt Eden, losing his left eyeMr. Beresford found tha detonator at the garage in which he is employed and took it home. Thinking it was harmless, he attached it to a wireless set, but immediately there was an explosion and Mr. Beresford was struck in the face and hands. The palm and part of the wrist of the left hand were severely injured, and flying pieces entered the left eye. The injured youth was removed to the hospital, where it was found necessary to remove his left eye. He is reported to be progressing satisfactorily.
