TO-DAY'S WEATHER. HERALD'S 'SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 24 hours froifi 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—Further unsettled weather, with additional heavy rain, is indicated, particularly in northern and east coast districts. Thunderstorms, are expected in many places, especially in the North. Rivers flooded. Northerly winds, strong to gale, backing to west. Seas heavy. The cyclonic storm area jjssociatecL with the extensive tropical disturbance has moved rapidly down the east coast of the North Island, being attended by stormy weather and considerable rain. A secondary disturbance is expected to follow, succeeded by colder conditions generally.. Barometric pressure is , decreasing further, and there are indications of the existence of an Antarctic disturbance on the south-west Tasman Sea. Barometer, midnight, falling 28.751n. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—Present indications are for northerly winds, strong to gale, backing to westerlies northward of Kawhia and East Cape, and north-east-erlies to south-easterlies elsewhere. Weather stormy, with further rain generally; heavy rain and rivers flooded in the Northern and East Coast districts, and snow on the higher levels. The barometer has a further falling tendency.
