HOMELESS IMMIGRANT.
SURRENDER TO POLICE.

"■ Out of •work, homeless and destitute, George Bollam, a youth of 18 years, went to tho Christchurch police station and asked to be taken into custody. Accordingly he appeared before Mr. K. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day on a charge of being an idle and disorderly person, in that he had insufficient lawful means of support. It was stated that Bollam landed in Auckland in January, 1927. Since then he had travelled about the North Island looking for work. While in Coromandel he got into trouble for taking a horse and received 25 days' imprisonment. Ho came from Wellington to Lyttelton by working his passage. The Rev. P. Revell said he would do his best to see that the young man got jwork. Accused was convicted and ordered to Pottie up for sentence when called upon.
