There was a small yarding of beef and sheep, but a heavy entry of dairy cows and heifers, and pigs. Beef was firm. Competition was keen for fresh and forward cows. Dairy cows and heifers sold at late rates. Quotations:—Sheep.—Aged fat ewes, 21s 9d; forward hoggets, 20s. Cattle: Three-year forward steers, £8 16s: prime fat heifers, £8 13s: fat speyed heifers, £6 to £6 19s; heavy fat cows, £6 13s to £7: medium, £5 17a 6d to £G 2s 6d; light unfinished cows, £4 15s to £5; fresh conditioned empty cowa. £2 16a to £4 4s; store cowb, £2 10s to £2 llis; good quality Jersey heifer calves. £4 18s: others, £3 2s (>d to £3 10s.
