COUNTY RATING QUESTION.

PROPOSALS IN WAITEMATA

A conference of representatives of various ratepayers' organisations in the Kumeu, Pukeatua and Waitakerc ridings to consider the question of unimproved rating for the Waiternata County was held at Rivcrhead on Saturday afternoon. The conference was called by ,the Pukeatua Ratepayers' Association and Mr. R. Glasgow, of Taupaki, presided over about 12 delegates. The general opinion was that the various associations did not know enough about the proposals to lie able to express a definite opinion on the matter, and further information regarding the system Was needed. It was decided that, Mr. H. L. Crook, of Rivcrhead, should co-operate with the Various association secretaries in arranging for public meetings to lie addressed bv representatives of the New Zealand Land Values League, at Waimauku, Kumeu, Taupaki and Coatesvilie, and that a further conference of representatives from all parts of the Waiternata County be called after these meetings have been held and the views of the associations concerned obtained.
