NEW TIMING APPARATUS.

[Br TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. An electrical timing apparatus was nsed for the first time in New Zealand at a speed trial for rriotor-cycles on Waikanao Beach. The speeds recorded ranged from 78.26 miles an hour to 102.27 miles an hour. The- distance was a flying mile, and H. Mangham, tho winner, covered it in 35 1-5 sees.
