Instructions to proceed with the erection of a telephone line from the railhead at Kirikopuni toward Tangowahine, have been received by the foreman in charge of telephone line construction at the public works at Pukehuia. This is regarded as significant, for there has been an insistent demand for the extension of the railway from Kirikopuni to Dargaville to connect with the existing sectional line from Dargaville to Kaihu and Donnelly's Crossing.
