OUTBREAKS OF FIRE.

FIBROUS PLASTER WORKS. DAMAGE DONE TO MACHINERY. PREMISES AT MOUNT ALBERT. Considerable damage was done to the interior of h shed, part of Mr C. V. Leman's fibrous plaster works, in Edendale Road. Mount Albert, shortly before 2 o'clock yesterday morning. Two hours later the brigade attended an outbreak of fire in two of the City Council's movable sheds in Fanshawe Street. One of the sheds was destroyed, some tools being damaged.

The house, which was used for accommodating share-milkers and was partly furnished, was unoccupied at the time. Mr. Piggott, who was engaged carting hay, passed it about rune o'clock and noticed nothing amiss, but on returning some time later found it on fire. Nothing was saved.

Varley Hudson, of Auckland, and occupied by Sir. H. Dixon, was almost completely gutted by fire this afternoon. The fire started in the wash-house, and the flames had a good hold before two women, who were upstairs, became aware of it. Their escape was made possible only by the assistance of two men, who noticed their plight. Nothing was saved. Mr. Dixon's furniture was insured for £350 in the State Office. The top storey of the building was let as a fiat and the occupiers had no insurance on their furniture and effects.
