[ fiY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CO TIT? ESPON DENT. ] HAMILTON, Tuesday. The annual meeting of the Maeroa Ratepavers' Association was held last evening, the chairman, Mr. T. Reedie, presiding. The report stated that the past year's operations had been most useful. Sewerage and water reticulation works in the district had been completed, fire alarms had been installed and the association had been instrumental in bringing about a reduction in the charges for electricity. Considerable improvements had been 'effected on the district roads and name-plate? had been erected at street intersections.
The following officers were elected: — Chairman, Mr. T. Reedie; executive, Messrs. J. D. Clark, S. Finlay, F. N. Heath, W. H. Mawson, R. Irving, A. Frith, C. S. Pratt, E. R- Brain an-1 Watson; secretary, W. E. Jones.
