BEAUTIFYING BAYSWATER.
The Bavswater and Belmont Progressive Association held its first working l)ee at Bavswater on Saturday afternoon, over 50 attending.- Rockeries wore formed in King Edward Avenue, and 172 trees were planted in Norwood Road. The Mayor of Takapuna, Mr. J. W. Williamson, planted the first treo. A selected musical programme was rendered hv the Takapuna Municipal Band during the afternoon, and refreshments were served by the ladies. It is proposed to systematically work in the various roads in the districts and to further beautify Williamson's Park at Belmont.. Between 80 and 90 residents have signified their intention to assist at , the working bees to be held each Saturday afternoon.
