INDUSTRIAL MISSION.

RIFT ARISES IN AMERICA. LABOUR MEMBERS DISAGREE. (Received June 9, 5.5 p.m.) A. Amd N.Z. WASHINGTON. June 8. Tlie President, Mr. Coolidge, received i four of the members of the Australian j Industrial Mission. Iho attitudo of Mr. Grayndler is somewhat disquieting to his two colleagues, especially as he will leave for Australia a fortinight before they do and may anticipate their views. Mr Grayndler savs the members of the mission have received wrong information, because they visited the " open " shops. In spite of a resolution passed by the mission denying that it had any political motives, Messrs. Grayndler and Mclnnes gave a remarkable interview to a Washington Labour weekly, in which they lauded the Australian Labour policy and said compulsory arbitration had proved satisfactory. The paper described it as a composite interview with the four Labour members of tiie commission, but Messrs. Munden and Valentine say they were not consulted and they dissociated themselves from, the views expressed before the article was published. The members say Mr. Grayndler has mad© no effort to assist in the preparation of their report.
