BURGLARY AT AVONDALE.

TOBACCONIST SHOP ENTERED. GOODS WORTH £SO STOLEN. There is no sign of abatement in the epidemic of burglaries in Auckland and suburbs. During Tuesday night, the shpp of Mr. P. Wood, tobacconist, Avondale, was broken into, and goods to the value of about £SO stolen. The 'shop is one of a recently-opened block of lock-up shops at the corner of Great North Road and Brown Street. Mr. Wood left the shop locked at eight o'clock on Tuesday evening, and on arriving at eight o'clock yesterday morning found the door had been forced by a jemmy. The burglars made a good haul, taking away a large amount of cigarettes and tobacco, razors and toilet articles. Only the shop received attention, the hairdressing salooii in the rear not, being disturbed.
