DARGAVILLE HIGH SCHOOL.

NEW COMMITTEE ELECTED. [EY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] DARGAVILLE, Wednesday. The new election ordered in connection ■with the Dargaville District High School Committee took place on Monday evening, when, in spite of the boisterous weather, 150 people attended the meeting. The first election was ruled out because a number of people other than those qualified had voted. The Mayor, Mr. F. A. Jones, presided at the meeting. The election resulted: —Successful: Mr C. S. Rush, 97; Mr. T. G. Barker, 78; Mr. R. Peat, 73; Mr. R. Berry, 71; Mrs. A Gregory, 68; the Rev. G. P. Morris, 67; Mr. W. Jerram, 66; Mr. H. Page, 65; Mr. G. Dunn, 60. Unsuccessful; Mr L. Lawrence, 52; Mrs Oxenham, 42; Mr. S- Squires, 28; Mrs. Chatfield, 26; Mr. A. Gregory, 24. v Mr. Lawrence is the only member of the old committee who sought re-election and was defeated. Mr. Barker was elected chairman and treasurer, and Mr. Bush secretary.
