CAMPAIGN BY THE LEAGUE. The campaign to encourage the purchase of New Zealand made goods, inaugu rated by the New Zealand-made Prefer ••nee League some months ago, is not being allowed to languish. The league claims the problem ql uii employment would be neafer solution if the public purchased the Dominion-made equivalent of the imported article. Spirited demand for goods produced in local factories Would create a demand for more labour and at the same time keep money within the country. A' comprehensive list of New Zealand manufacturers has been prepared by the league for the guidance of shoppers. Every class of manufacturer from matchmakers to woollen mills is included in the list. It is authoritatively stated that since the league commenced its campaign there has been an increased demand for the products of New Zealand workers. In some cases buyers on a large scale have cancelled orders for foreign importations and have transferred their custom to Dominion manufacturers. NEXT WEEK'S EXHIBITION. An exhibition of New Zealand-made goods is to be held in the Town Hall For five afternoons and evenings, commencing next Wednesday. exhibition has been organised by the New Zea land-made Prefei*ence League and has the support of a number of local organisa tions. Many novel and entertaining attractions wiil be provided at both afternoon and evening sessions. Maori "warriors" will give demonstrations of oldtime hakas, and Maori girls will perform poi dances. The pupils of Mile. Valeska • will depict ""living advertisements" of New Zealand productions. A feature of the exhibition will be a parade of nianneouins wearing gowns manufactured in New Zealand from Dominion-produced fabrics. A large Maori storehouse will be erected in tne hall, out of which the mannequins will parade. Every phase of New Zetland industry, will be portrayed from the arrival of the white man to the present day.
