CENTRAL POWER BOARD.

EXTENSION OF SERVICES. REPORT BY THE ENGINEER. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Wednesday The Central Electric Power Board met this morning, Mr. T Hinton presiding ' The engineer, Mr . J R Ellis, reported that the work of extending the 11,000 volt extension lines to Ohinewai had been com pleted. The low tension and service lines had also been completed. The installa tions on consumers' premises would be connected as soon as they were finished The poles for the 11,000 volt extension to the Renown Collieries had been laid out and about 35 were erected. Numerous low tension and service • lines had been erected and extra copper added to exist- : ing lines where necessary. During the j month 63 poles were erected and 1477 i chains of wire were run." The total ) number oi consumers was 2714, with 4939 connections. As a result of receiving notification of a claim for damages in respect of a woman injured through being knocked down by a motor-cycle, the driver of which, an employee of the board, was subsequently convicted of dangerous driving, the board resolved to issue a warning to all ts drivers stating that a sorious view would be taken of cases where convictions of dangeious driving were recorded against its employees Matters affecting the insurance of the board's employees against accidents were referred to the finance com&iittee For a report. The chairman, Mr. T. Hinton, andv the engineer, Mr. J. R. Ellis, were appointed delegates to the conference of power board representatives at Hamilton to-morrow.
