ORATIA DISTRICT ROADS.
RIVAL ROUTES INSPECTED.
Rival deputations with requests; regarding the construction of a rood connection between Gratia railway station and Oieri Eden waited upon Mr II G R. Mason. MP- for Eden, on Saturday afternoon. The first deputation, representing settlers from Waari district, asked that the road already partially 'obstructed alongside the railway toward Glen Eden should be continued through Auckland City Council property, thus giving more direct access to the district The second deputation brought forward an alternative proposal for a road extension on the lower side of the railway Une. Attention was *ljk> drawn to improvements urgently needed at Ora?:» station, and also to anomalies in the railway fares. Mr Mason noted the matters j»fougM up, and also inspected the routes of the proposed roads, accompanied by the deputations. Mr H. Moor, mem her for the V.'a: kumet© riding of the Waitetaata County Council, also attended the meeting si the request of settlers, who were anxious to know what had become of their road metal- Mr Moor was able to satisfy those concerned that the work was being pushed on sj fast as circumstances should permit, and also that the material would s.'-on be forthcoming
