"BURGLAR-PROOF" SAFE.

BLOWN OPEN BY ROBBERS. TWO VISITS TO A STORE. Safe blowers paid a daring return visit to the premises of a store at Wagga, New South Wales. In the early hours of a recent Saturday morning, and after successfully blowing the door of the safe, decamped without booty. Fortunately, all the money in the store on Saturday night had been banked, and the safe was practically empty. A few weeks previously the same premises were entered, the strong-room door blown out, and money and cheques to the value of £9OO were stolen. When the safe was examined by f.he police after the second visit, it was found that a large figure "2" was printed in chalk on the inside, evidently an ironical reference to the second visit. After the first robbery, the firm, purchased a new safe door from a city firm. The door was believed to be fire and burglar proof, and was said to have cost £3OO.
