WORK BY MARRIED WOMEN. LADY ASTOR REBUKES MEN. 'A. nrd N.Z.-Sup. LONDON, Awril The House of Commons rejected a private bill to regulate the employment of married women. The measure chiefly affected the Civil Service. Lady Astor, Conservative member for Button, in a fighting speech, turned sharply on her opponents, especially Captain R. C. Bourne, Conservative member for Oxford City, for saying married yomen were not efficient.
